BIPV--Building Integrated Photovoltaic

BIPV, or Building Integrated Photovoltaic, refers to the integration of photovoltaic elements into building structures, serving dual purposes of generating electricity while also functioning as building materials. This innovative approach seamlessly incorporates solar technology into various architectural elements such as roofs, facades, windows, and walls, blending sustainability with aesthetic appeal. In the BIPV scheme, solar modules are integrated into the roof structure. Longitudinal channels serve as the primary support beams, designed to collect rainwater and direct it into trenches for drainage. Horizontal channels are installed between adjacent modules to collect rainwater and divert it into the longitudinal channels for proper drainage. Solar modules are arranged horizontally on the main beams, secured in place with bolts and pressing blocks. Longitudinal cover plates are installed above the main beams to minimize the ingress of rainwater and dust, preventing blockages and ensuring efficient drainage.
